Michael J. Healey Co-Founder and Attorney at Law
Michael has extensive experience in real estate conveyancing, title insurance underwriting, and
environmental law. Prior to opening Ocean State Title & Escrow, LLC, Michael worked as an associate at a northern
Rhode Island law firm with a primary focus on real estate conveyancing. Prior to working in Rhode Island, Michael was an
Attorney-Advisor with the United States Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, D.C.
In
addition to being a co-owner and founder of Ocean State Title, Michael is also a partner in the law firm
of Healey & Shannon, LLC which offers legal representation in several disciplines including wills and trusts, estate planning,
land use, real estate quiet title actions and workers compensation.
Michael
is a member of the Rhode Island Bar Association and the Rhode Island Bar Association’s Committee on Title Standards.
Michael received his J.D. from the California Western School of Law and his B.S. from the University of Rhode Island.

J. Shannon Co-Founder and
Attorney at Law
For the past eleven years, Nicole has practiced law primarily in the areas of residential and commercial
real estate conveyancing and financing. Prior to being admitted to the Rhode Island Bar, Nicole worked in this area as a legal
secretary and paralegal for nearly ten years. In addition to her real estate conveyancing background, Nicole also has experience
in other real estate land use matters including applications for property subdivisions, planning/zoning board relief and building
permits.
In addition to being a co-owner and founder of Ocean State Title, Nicole is also a partner in the law
firm of Healey & Shannon, LLC which offers legal representation in several disciplines including wills and trusts, estate
planning, land use, real estate quiet title actions and workers compensation.
Nicole received her Bachelor of
Arts at Boston College in 1992 and her Juris Doctor at the Roger Williams University of School in 1997. A lifelong resident
of Rhode Island, she now resides with her family in Cumberland.

has been a paralegal in Rhode Island for over 20 years. She has spent most of her career working primarily in the
field of real estate conveyancing and is now a co-owner of Ocean State Title & Escrow, LLC. At Ocean State
Title, Joann supervises all aspects of the residential real estate closing process and manages the company's staff of title
examiners. She is also primarily responsible for managing Ocean State
Title's various escrow accounts, including preparation of daily disbursements and account reconciliations.
In
addition to her work as a paralegal, Joann has been instrumental in furthering the client base and
marketing efforts of her employers. Throughout her lengthy career, Joann has fostered and maintained valuable relationships
with various realtors, lenders and other real estate professionals throughout Rhode Island.
Joann received her degree
in Paralegal Studies from Johnson & Wales University in 1987. A lifelong resident of Rhode Island, she now resides
